Flower Pom Pom

Flower pom poms are so easy to make and so effective! I’ve hung some up in my craft room from the ceiling with a bit of washi tape. Try making them in different sizes and hanging them in the corner of the room or I’ve even seen them used as a pretty centrepiece on the table.

Either use a pre-folded tissue pom pom (like the one in the floral DIY Box!) or you can make this up by stacking 8 – 10 sheets of tissue paper and then making 1.5 inch accordian folds. Then follow the directions below to create your pom pom!

Step 1: Your pre-made pom pom has a tie on it – or if you are making it from scratch simply tie a small bit of thin ribbon around the middle and secure with a double knot.

Step 2: Gripping the pom pom in the middle start separating the accordian folds out.

Step 3: Working upwards start separating each sheet of tissue paper upwards away from the piece underneath it on one side.

Step 4: Do the same on the other side, making sure you flip it over when you get halfway through so that your pom pom takes on that lovely round shapre.

And there you go – a beautiful flower pom pom in minutes! Perfect for summer soirees, baby showers, weddings and (if the sun stays out!) garden parties.
